Hope everyone is busy preparing the snacks for tomorrow's festival.  To add on to my already existing Special recipes for Krishna Jeyanthi, I am sharing the recipe of Vella Seedai today. Last Friday I managed to try this vella seedai after sending Happy to school. Though it was not very much appealing like the Uppu seedai, it tasted so good. I reserved it for Happy's after school snack and I had a feeling that she will not try any. However, to my surprise, she started eating and liked it very much. She gulped almost half of the below-presented bowl in one go 😛 and I am very happy. Let us move on to the recipe:

Eggless Wheat Flour Banana Muffin Recipe | Wheat Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin | Banana Muffin | Eggless Wheat Banana Muffin

I don't prefer cakes with so much of icing and I like mildly sweet plain cakes. Also, I  love banana flavoured bread, cake and muffin. For one of the Christmas during my college days, Paneer Anna brought a banana cake from a far away bakery. That is the first time, I tasted a banana cake and it tastes so delicious. Paneer Anna drives our car in native and he is a very close family friend. Hence, whenever I visit native, he will try to bring me that cake. After I started baking, I had tried Eggless Banana Walnut Muffin and Banana Bread. I was thinking about trying some whole wheat cake recipes when my sister in- law started asking about it. To my rescue Hari Chandana posted this recipe on her Instagram and I bookmarked the recipe.
In Happy's school, teachers involve kids in some kinds of cooking or baking once in a week. She loves that very much and after seeing that interest, I involve her whenever I make play dough. Recently, she was asking me to make a cake along with her. Since I was very busy arranging the new house, I couldn't bake any. Finally, two days back I tried this recipe along with Happy and it came out very well. She was very excited about the outcome and she wanted to eat one soon after it is out of the oven. She told it is very tasty and here I am with the recipe:

Kadachakka Bajji Recipe | Breadfruit Bajji | Cheema Chakka Bajji | How to prepare Breadfruit Bajji

We were moving to another suburb in Sydney and I was completely occupied. Hence, you could not see any new posts from me. Now, we have settled in the new house and I hope to continue blogging. During my recent India trip, we visited Jany's aunt and she served us this bhaji. It was so tasty and I asked her the recipe immediately. After I returned to Sydney, I saw breadfruit quite a few times in Udhaya. It really tempted me to buy and I bought one. I prepared bajji with half and chips with the remaining. I will be posting the chips soon. Check out my Potato bajji recipe as well. Let us move on to the recipe:

Pineapple Kesari Recipe | Pineapple Rava Kesari | Pineapple Sheera | Pineapple Kesari Bath

Happy Vishu and Happy Tamil New Year to everyone out there. Hope you all are enjoying the long weekend. I have not prepared any special items to celebrate this occasion since it is Good Friday. We were busy with the Good Friday rituals in the church and the day went peacefully. Before winding up the day, I thought to share a special recipe of Pineapple Kesari from my drafts.
During my recent India trip, dad got us few fresh pineapples and it was very tasty. After having few slices of pineapple, I thought of making few dishes using it. Payaru Kanji Recipe | Green Gram Rice Porridge | Cheru Payar Kanji | Pachai Payaru Kanji | Payaru Kanji with Thengai Chammanthi | Good Friday Special

Payar Kanji is a comforting and traditional food for many Keralites and for people from Kanyakumari District. It is very nutritious, filling and easily digestible.  My mum and grandma make this payar kanji at least once in a week and it is very close to my heart. Still, I follow the tradition and make it once in a week for dinner. It is very easy to make and it goes very well with coconut chammanthi or pickle. Whenever I feel bored to cook or I am sick, we end up making this since it is nutritious than buying from hotels. Since Good Friday is nearing, I thought of sharing this recipe on the blog. We make Payaru Kanji for lunch on Good Friday and even in Churches, it is served. Check out my Cheru payar Thoran which goes well with Plain rice Kanji. Traditionally, they make it in a big pot. However, you can make it in a pressure cooker too. (check notes)Let us move on to the preparation of kanji:

Pachai Payaru Javvarisi Payasam Recipe | Green Gram Sago Kheer | Paasipayaru Payasam | Moong Bean Payasam | Payasam Recipes

When I was asked to prepare some green gram recipes for an event, I made this Payasam along with the other green gram recipes that I posted earlier. Initially, I was planning to make this payasam with Karupatti (Palm Jaggery). However, I ran out of karupatti at that time and hence I made it with normal Jaggery. Green Gram and Karupatti are very nutritious and I suggest you make this payasam with karupatti. Unlike other lentils, the green gram doesn't upset the stomach and it has a lot of nutrients. Do give it a try and let me know the results. Mango Shrikhand Recipe | Amrakhand | Mango Recipes | Mango Flavored Yoghurt

Today is a special day for me, yes, it is both my birthday and my dad's birthday. Though we both miss mum on this day, we know she is always with us and she is our strength. The day went well with a lot of blessings and wishes from the family and friends. To celebrate this day, I am sharing a recipe with my favourite fruit mango. Shrikhand is a yoghurt based thick dessert which can be made with any fruit. Mango (Aam) Shrikhand is called as Amrakhand and it is usually served along with Poori or as a dessert. I would relate this to the flavoured yoghurt which we get in tubs.  The Shrikhand is made using hung yoghurt/curd and unlike Mango lassi it is thick. Tapioca Masala Recipe | Kappa Masala | Marchini Kizhangu Masala | Maravalli Kizhangu Masala

Being born and brought up in Kanyakumari district, the word 'Marchini Kizhangu' itself creates goosebumps and it gives me many nostalgic memories. When I was a kid, we always had fresh tapioca from our farm. Mum used to make different dishes and this Kappa Masala is one of my favourites. It goes very well with Fish Kuzhambu and there were days when I had this Kappa Masala with fish as my lunch. Jany too is very much fond of Tapioca and in Sydney we got it in an Indian shop, quite a few times. However, it didn't have the taste like the one we get in native. So, during my recent India trip, we had it for lunch most of the days along with rice and fish. I too clicked it once to share it in the blog and without much delay let us move on to the recipe:
