Inji Thayir Recipe | Kerala Style Ginger in Yogurt | Onam Sadya Recipes

Today I am sharing one of the simplest dishes found in the Onam Sadya, Inji Thayir. Ginger has many medicinal values and it helps in the easy digestion after heavy meals. Though the recipe can be given in one line, I wanted to record it under my Onam Sadya Menu. Without further delay, let us move on to the recipe:

Curd/Yogurt - 1/2 Cup 
Green Chilli - 1 
Ginger - 1 tsp(grated) 
Curry leaves - few 
Salt - as required 
1. Peel the skin of the ginger and grate it. Chop the green chilli and curry leaves finely. Whisk the curd with required salt and add all the other ingredients.
2. Mix it all together and taste check the salt before serving.
The yummy and easy peasy Inji Thayir is ready in minutes. serve it in Sadya.
Points to remember:
  • Adjust the green chilli as per your preferred spiciness.
  • You can also saute the ginger, green chilli and curry leaves in a tsp of oil before adding to the curd.
  • Finely chopped shallots can also be used.
