Thirattipal or Palkova is my favourite dessert right from childhood. I had one unused condensed milk tin in my fridge for a long time and thought of making thirattipal using it. The preparation is very simple when compared to the traditional palkova with milk. I have prepared this in the stovetop, however, you can prepare this in the microwave oven too (check the notes section). Kids will love this yummy palkova.
Ingredients:Condensed Milk(Milkmaid) - 1 Tin
Curd - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tblsp
Method:
1. Add the condensed milk to a pan and bring it to boil. Mix the curd along with this. Keep stirring and the mixture will start to thicken.
- Curd is added to get the grainy texture in thirattipal. Don't increase the quantity. It may bring sourness to the thirattipal.
- You can add cardamom for extra flavour. But I skipped it.
- You can prepare this in the microwave. Mix everything in a wide ghee greased glass bowl. Microwave it in high for 3 minutes. Then scrap the sides and mix well. Again microwave for 2 more mins or until required.
- If you are looking for the traditional thirattipal with full fat milk and sugar, then please check my palkova with milk recipe.
