Thirattipal Recipe|Easy Palkova using Condensed milk| Diwali Special Recipe

Thirattipal or Palkova is my favourite dessert right from my childhood. I had one unused milkmaid tin in my fridge for a long time. To make the preparation simple I have used milkmaid. But you can use full fat milk as well. You can prepare it in a microwave, checkout points to remember section. Kids will love this yummy palkova. Off to the recipe:
Milkmaid - 1 Tin
Curd - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup(Optional)
1. Mix the condensed milk, curd and milk. Allow it to boil. When it starts boiling add one tsp of ghee.
2. By now the milk gets thickens and in medium flame stir it continuously. Scrap the milk sticking at the sides of the pan. Add the remaining ghee now. Take care not to burn the milk.
Once it thickens completely and looks grainy, switch off the flame.
Points to remember:
  • Curd is added to get the grainy texture in thirattipal. Don't increase the quantity. It may bring sourness to the thirattipal.
  • Instead of condensed milk, you can add full fat milk. You should reduce the milk until it thickens by boiling in medium flame. Also add necessary sugar.
  • You can add cardamom for extra flavour. But I skiped it.
  • You can prepare this in microwave. Mix everything in a wide ghee greased glass bowl. Microwave it in high for 3 minutes. Then scrap the sides and mix well. Again microwave for 2 more mins or until required.
Warm Regards,
