On mornings when I wake up late, the first thing that comes to my mind is Apple honey Oatmeal for breakfast. Though we are not real lovers of oats porridge, we like to have oats this way. Jany and Happy have it without complaining and hence I make it once in a while. Oatmeal is full of fiber , combining fruit or nuts with oats while they are cooking adds more nutrients. When you're trying to lose weight, Oatmeal can be served as a healthy and filling breakfast.

Ingredients:Quaker Oats - 1 cup
Milk - 1 cupWater - 1 cup
Apple - 1 (diced into small pieces)
Honey - As required to taste
Raisins- few
Method:Any nuts of your choice (Almonds, Walnuts etc.)
1. In a saucepan, bring water to boil. Add the Oats to it. Cook the Oats in low flame stirring occasionally.
2. Now add the apple and stir to prevent sticking at the bottom. Once the apple is half cooked add the milk and when it starts boiling, switch off the flame.
3. Take care not to overcook the apple pieces. Add required amount of honey and garnish it with nuts and raisins before serving.
Serve the Apple honey Oatmeal warm. If the Oatmeal thickens as time goes, add required milk.

Points to remember:
- You can add spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to give great flavor to your oats.
- If you prefer, add 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence.
