Chilli Cheese Toast is one of my all time favorite toasts that can be made in a jiffy. When I was in hostel, I usually have my morning breakfast at office and most of the days I order chilli cheese toast. I got this recipe from the shop guy, who was preparing it for me. It was very simple and easy to make. After I got a sandwich maker, I tried it in my home and it tastes good. Jany's cousins really loved this chilli cheese toast which I offered them during their last visit. I have presented the recipe with sandwich maker and I have included stove top method in the notes section as well.
Ingredients:Bread Slices - 2
Cheese Slice - 1 or Grated cheese - 2 tbsp
Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp(Egg or Eggless)
Green Chilli - 1
Butter - As required
Method:
1. Take two slices of bread and spread Mayonnaise on top of it.
2. Place a cheese slice on top of the Mayonnise spread. Meanwhile chop the green chilli and add it on top of the cheese slice. Close it with another slice of mayo spreaded bread.
3. Apply some butter on top of the sandwich maker plate and allow it to heat. When it is hot, place the prepared sandwiches on it and close the lid of the sandwich maker.
4. After 2 to 3 mins or after the top turns brown and crispy, remove the bread from the sandwich plate and slice it diagonally with a sharp knife.
Serve it hot with tomato ketchup or mayonnaise.
The yummy and crispy bread toast can be served as breakfast or evening snack.
- If you don't have mayonnaise, you can skip it. But it tastes good with Mayo. It is readily available in all supermarkets now.
- Instead of cheese slices, you can use any type of cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar cheese.
- When you serve for Kids, replace green chilli with capsicum for less spicy toast.
- You can make it on stove top too. In a dosa pan, spread some butter and place the prepared sandwich on top of it. Press the top of the bread slice with a ladle for few mins, and then flip to cook the other side. Cook until it turns golden brown.
