Last year I posted few kozhukattai recipes which you can refer here. To add on this list I am posting few more kozhukattai recipes. This is a simple and easy recipe which can be made it in a jiffy. I made this for breakfast yesterday. I got this recipe from my friend's mom. To my surprise it came out very well. Off to the recipe:
Ingredients:Aval(White Poha) - 2 Cups
Water - 1.5 cups
Coconut - 2 tbsp
To Temper:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Moong dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Method:
1. Pulse the poha in mixture coarsely. Don't grind it smoothly(It should be similar to rava). Set it aside. In a pan add the oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, moong dal and curry leaves. Allow it to turn golden brown.
2.Add water and bring to boil. Once it slated boiling, add the ground poha and stir well.
3. It will be cooked and looks similar to rava upma after absorbing water. Add the grated coconut and switch off the flame. Once the upma reaches hand bearable heat, form it into cylindrical shaped balls.
2.Add water and bring to boil. Once it slated boiling, add the ground poha and stir well.
4. Arrange it in idli plate and steam it for 5 to 7 mins.
Serve it hot will any spicy chutney of your choice. You can serve it as evening snack. I served it for breakfast along with Peerkanga chutney(I will post this chutney soon).

- The mixture should not be very dry. It should have some moisture content, so that shaping of the kozhukattai's will be easy
- If you don't prefer coconut, you can skip it.
