After a week of work in the office, I am in a mood to enjoy the weekend by cooking and blogging. Planning to try some new bakes and sweets after a long time. And coming to today's post, its Gobi Manchurian. The word Gobi Manchurian reminds me of my golden hostel days. Almost every Saturday we friends, get starters either Veg or Non-Veg from a nearby small hotel. My friend Angavai always goes for Gobi and the way she describes the taste of that Gobi makes me smile now. It is also one of my favorite veg recipes.
I started to work again after my maternity break and it is really hard for me to manage the blog now. Yet, I am trying my level best to share some recipes. This Ven Pongal recipe was there in my drafts for such a long time now and thought of posting it before this year’s Pongal. Pongal is not my favourite breakfast while Jany loves to have it with Sambhar. So, I make it once in a while.
Happy New year to all my readers and friends. With my mom's blessing, I am here to blog again in this lovely space which holds my mom's memories. Coming to today's post, it is everyone's favorite Paneer Butter Masala. Whenever we go to restaurants and if I planned to have a veg dish then, PB masala or Gobi is my choice. I make it often in my home for dinner. If I don't have fresh cream readily in my pantry, I use milk instead. Homemade or store brought paneer can be used. I will share homemade paneer recipe in the near future.
It is with a very heavy heart that I write to say I'll be taking a short break from blogging.
As you can see, it has been quite a while since I last posted. My sweet mother passed away very unexpectedly. It was very hard for me to accept this terrible fact.
My Mom was everything to me. She left us too early. She molded me to live independently and taught me everything to take good care of my family. She is the one who supports all my efforts and enjoys wholeheartedly whatever I do. She is the greatest mom in the whole world.
We used to talk on the phone every day, a number of times and share almost everything that happened on that day now and then. I miss all those calls and the moments we shared together won't come back again. I cry every day when I remember all my happy moments with her.
Happy's Cook is my Mom's blessing and I want to continue it throughout my life, at least to honor my mom's cooking skills.
I ran into tears when I saw the text www.happyscook.com in my Mom's mobile after she passed away. She was the one who was very much excited and thrilled after seeing Happy's cook. She feels proud and enjoys spreading it to her well wishers. Most of my recipes will have her influence and you can find a word about her in most of my blog posts.
Amma, "Things could not be any better than having you in my life. I have never met anyone as wonderful as you and no one can replace you in my life. I really miss you".
Thanks everyone for your support until now and do support me in the future.
Mom has made this Maa Ladoo once or twice in my childhood. Since I don't show much interest, she stopped making it. After a long gap I tasted this ladoo, that too from my preparation :). It tasted awesome and it is also a recipe which can be made in a jiffy with very few ingredients. Since roasted gram is healthy, you can try this yummy ladoos for your kids sake. Here, we go for the recipe.
