I made this Wheat Flour Halwa during last Diwali when I was not confident enough to try Tirunelveli Halwa at home from the scratch. However, before Diwali, I attempted Tirunelveli Wheat Halwa and to my surprise, it turned out super awesome. Hence, that recipe made its entry into the space during Diwali. I thought of posting this recipe at least now since it tastes equally good with different flavour and texture. Check out my other special sweet recipes that I have posted until now. Let us move on to the recipe:
Ingredients:Wheat flour/Atta - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup(add more if required)
Water - 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder - a pinch
Cashew nuts(broken) - few
Method:
1. In a pan, add a tsp of ghee and fry the cashew nuts until golden brown. Then add the remaining ghee and heat it. Now, reduce the flame to low and add the wheat flour.(sprinkle it across the pan)
2. Roast it in low flame until the colour changes and nice aroma comes. Take care not to burn it. Slowly add the water at this stage and keep stirring. It will be cooked very quickly and gather into a mass.
3. Finally, add the required sugar. It will start to melt and add more ghee if required. Add cardamom powder.

4. When the halwa turns a little glossy and ghee started to ooze out, switch off the flame.
Serve the delicious dessert when it is a little warm.

- Don't compromise on the quantity of the ghee.
- Adjust the quantity of the sugar based on your taste buds.
- You can replace cashew nuts with chopped pieces of almonds.
- Roasting the flour in low flame gives perfect texture for the halwa, so do it carefully.
