Fish Fry Recipe | Meen Varuval

Most of our Saturday lunch menu is rice along with Fish Curry and Fish Fry. Jany likes this combo and he doesn't prefer any vegetable along with this. Though we fry fish often, I missed to post this simple recipe here. So few weeks back, I clicked it and here I am with this delicious fish fry. You can find many recipes for this fish fry and this is from my kitchen prepared based on my mom's recipe.
Ingredients:
Fish - 4 Pieces
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp  
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp 
Pepper Powder - 1 tsp 
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp 
Salt - as required 
Oil - To shallow fry
Method:
1. Clean the fish and keep it aside. Mix all the ingredients with little water to form a paste. Now rub the fish with this paste. Make sure the fish is coated completely. Rest it for 20 mins. In a wide pan or dosa tawa add some oil and shallow fry the fish. Fry it in medium flame.
2. Flip to cook the other side as well. Remove and drain it in tissue paper.
Serve it hot. I served it with fish kuzhambu and rice as Saturday's Lunch.
Points to remember:
  • Adjust the spiciness as per your preference.
  • You can also squeeze a lemon with the masala. I skipped it.
