Thirattipal Recipe|Easy Palkova using Condensed milk| Diwali Special Recipe

Thirattipal or Palkova is my favourite dessert right from childhood. I had one unused condensed milk tin in my fridge for a long time and thought of making thirattipal using it. The preparation is very simple when compared to the traditional palkova with milk. I have prepared this in the stovetop, however, you can prepare this in the microwave oven too (check the notes section). Kids will love this yummy palkova.
Ingredients:
Condensed Milk(Milkmaid) - 1 Tin
Curd - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 1 tblsp
Method:
1. Add the condensed milk to a pan and bring it to boil. Mix the curd along with this. Keep stirring and the mixture will start to thicken.
2. When it is boiling add the ghee. Keep stirring in medium flame continuously. Scrap the milk sticking to the sides of the pan and take care not to burn it. Once it thickens completely and looks grainy, switch off the flame.
The yummy palkova is ready to be served.
Points to remember:
  • Curd is added to get the grainy texture in thirattipal. Don't increase the quantity. It may bring sourness to the thirattipal.
  • You can add cardamom for extra flavour. But I skipped it.
  • You can prepare this in the microwave. Mix everything in a wide ghee greased glass bowl. Microwave it in high for 3 minutes. Then scrap the sides and mix well. Again microwave for 2 more mins or until required.
  • If you are looking for the traditional thirattipal with full fat milk and sugar, then please check my palkova with milk recipe.
Warm Regards,
